In July 2017, the Nigeria-based Access Bank (the Bank) had achieved the rare feat of winning the Karlsruhe Sustainable Finance Awards in the category of ‘Outstanding Business Sustainability Achievement’ for the second time in a row. The bank had bagged the same award in 2016 in the same category. Apart from the accomplishment, the bank had been regularly honored with several accolades in recognition of its contributions toward sustainability, sustainable and responsible investments (SRI), and environmentally conscious strategies and practices. In 2016, the Bank was adjudged as the best in two categories viz. ‘Best Bank in Nigeria’– EMEA Finance , and ‘Corporate Social Responsibility' (Pan-African) – EMEA Finance.
